چکیده

In this work, the dry turning of Inconel 601 alloy in a environment with PVD-coated cutting inserts was studied. Turning performed at various speeds, feeds, insert shapes, corner radii, rake angles, and approach angles. After machining, arithmetic mean surface roughness (Ra) flank wear (VB) were measured, material removal rate also calculated (MRR). An analysis variance (ANOVA) to determine effects input parameters. For measured values, process modeled using an artificial neural network (ANN). Based on obtained model, parameters optimized genetic algorithm (GA). The objective function simultaneously minimize Ra VB maximize MRR. accuracy model optimal values further validated by confirmation experiments. maximum percentage errors, which are less than 2%, indicate possibility practical implementation hybrid for modeling optimization alloy.

Effect of Cutting Parameters on Tool Wear, Surface Roughness and Material Removal Rate During Dry Turning of EN-31 Steel

ISBN 978-93-82338-21-5 | © 2012 Bonfring Abstract--The present paper is an experimental study to investigate the effect of cutting parameters (cutting speed, depth of cut and feed) on tool wear, surface roughness and material removal rate (MRR) during dry turning of EN-31 steel. Turning experiments were conducted with cutting speeds: 250, 300, 350 m/min, feeds: 0.15, 0.2, 0.25 mm/rev and depth ...

Analysis of Surface Roughness and Material Removal Rate in Dry and Cryogenic Machining of En31 Steel

Production rates play important role in the turnover of any industry. In order to increase the production rates, industrial processes are need to be speedup by speeding input parameters such as cutting speeds, feed rates etc. But with the higher speeds and feeds the heat generation also increases between tool-chip, tool and work piece interfaces, which reduce the tool life, product quality and ...

Optimization of Material Removal Rate and Surface Roughness for WEDM of Titanium Alloy (Ti-4.5Al-2V) Using Taguchi Method

In this paper, wire electric discharge machining (WEDM) of Titanium alloy (Ti-4.5Al-2V) is studied. In WEDM, the prime objective in cutting operation is to achieve the highest possible cutting speed along with desirable surface finish without sacrificing productivity. It is evident that a high material removal rate and a very good surface finish can never be achieved simultaneously in WEDM. Sel...
